Please, attach the pdf documents for which you have problems so the developers
can take a look at them to know what is happening. Also, remark that your
poppler version is quite old, current one is 0.16.3, so maybe none/some/all of
the glitches you are seeing are already fixed, we can't know without the pdf
files.
