Hmm, you want something like "/usr/share/poppler/fonts" directory to
store the fonts to be searched at the highest priority (but you don't
think it's welcomed idea)? I think it's slightly different issue from
user configuration file and worth to discuss.

If you exclude the idea, do you have any idea to give higher priority
to your genuine ZapfDingbats?
