The last post is from a couple of years ago, but the problem seems to persist,
at least in Libre-Office (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40163).

Some recent "playing around" and experiments for workarounds can be seen in
this LibreOfficeForum thread: http://libreofficeforum.org/node/4183

Is there any work on solving this issue, or is planned for an incoming version?
