sample PDF and HTML depicting problem

Kindly have a look at attached PDF file and resultant HTML file. HTML file
contains some rectangles which are not apparent in PDF.

Problem was seen on Ubuntu 12.04 with poppler version poppler-0.20.3.tar.gz,
