This is done if the PDF is defect and was repaired by acrobat. Unfortunately
acrobat doesn't repair the jpeg image stream!

The containing JPEG image has a defect SOF marker. In the SOF marker of the
image width is set to 2480, BUT the height to 65536 (which is wrong, the
correct height is 3473). This exceeds the limit of the jpeg library (limit
65500), but even if not, because the value is wrong, it couldn't get
decompressed.
Unfortunately poppler doesn't give any error message in this case, it just
renders a white image.
