Priority: medium
Bug ID: 62418
Assignee: poppler-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Bilinear scaling results in blurry Aztec code printing
Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
Reporter: mgorny at gentoo.org
Hardware: Other
Status: NEW
Version: unspecified
Component: splash backend
Product: poppler
For some time, I am using printed train tickets which contain a small bit of
some industrial 2D barcode. Sadly, after late poppler update the printed codes
got blurry and thus become unreadable.
I am using evince to print the tickets. It uses poppler-glib to handle PDF
files and CUPS as a printer backend. CUPS passes jobs to lprng which uses
foomatic-filters to print it :).
Sadly, I am able to reproduce it only through printing. The evince view of the
ticket is blurry until I zoom it in. The print preview is always blurry
independently of zoom and poppler version. The actual print is blurry is
poppler-0.21.3+, and sharp in earlier versions.
I was able to bisect the issue to the following commit:
commit a97aead193a927b91a4e33d7b5d2ba7179e664df
