I've just tested qpdfview which uses splash, and with the old version, the
ticket is always sharp. With the post-commit version, it becomes sharp in 200%
zoom.

CUPS uses internal 'pdftops' helper which uses pdftops. But that doesn't
explain the issue since it seems to use cairo...
