indeed you're right, but my environment, debian, having all the programs that
are using libpoppler, usually uses released versions of all libraries.
so, to be able to test my patches, i needed to play by the system's rules.

please be understanding to this issue. in the case the patch is far from
compatibility to master, leave the fixing issue to me.
