Bug ID: 87254
Summary: pdftops incorrectly renders Bézier curves when part of
closed paths
Product: poppler
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: general
Assignee: poppler-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: reescf at gmail.com

Original PDF with curves which are part of closed paths (top 3) or not (bottom
2)
When Bézier curves are part of closed paths, pdftops renders them as
rectangles.
Attached: original PDF which includes sample curves. Top three are part of
closed paths. Bottom two are part of open paths. When pdftops is applied to
this file, the top three paths are rendered as rectangles, while the bottom two
render fine.
If I can attach a second file in a moment, I will also attach the PS output.
The problem can be demonstrated by viewing the resulting postscript in Okular
(with the ghostscript backend), Evince, gv and when printing.
For comparison, pdf2ps (ghostscript) renders the curves correctly.
[Initial description of the problem as a query about a LaTeX package at
http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/217562/why-do-tikz-b%C3%A9zier-curves-print-as-rectangles-when-part-of-a-closed-path.]
