Albert,
we are looking at new release tarball for distro to pick up. We are looking at
being able to point the pkg tarball to the distro such that the pkg build in
the distro build( that will obvious Little Endian version of Power Linux)
without further issues.

The package poppler is using the libtool that help to generate the shared
library. The current stable version of libtool does not have a support of
ppc64le so that is why it failed to build the shared lib on ppc64le Machines.

By asking you to "spin up a newer version of poppler which would support
ppc64le? by using alpha libtool"
we mean that , if it is possible for you to update your libtool to alpha
libtool source available on the below link.
ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/libtool/libtool-2.4.2.418.tar.gz (1.6MB)
ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/libtool/libtool-2.4.2.418.tar.xz (920KB)

and release a new version of poppler.

Let me know if you still have any doubts.

Chandan
