Could do a sanity check, don't load if PDF claims to be over 100,000 pages or 1
million pages long, or check that file size is at least X bytes.

A long-term solution, if such huge files are to be supported, would be to load
the file in 100,000 page chunks, then load the second part etc. I'm not sure
how that would fit into your architecture, however.
