            Bug ID: 104337
Summary: pdf 1.7 decode removes chars from text made by
                    (PDFium)
           Product: poppler
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
               URL: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=791746
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: high
         Component: cairo backend
          Assignee: poppler-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: systemdbugzilla at resellerdesktop.de

decoding a specific pdf made with PDFium, does remove all "I" and "." chars
from the document.

Xpdf Viewer renders this document normally,
evince renders it normaly,
but printing it via evince, removes "I" and "." chars/symbols from the
printout.
Printing it via Xpdf works as expected.

Tests run:

Result of : pdftocairo KFZ\ 2018.pdf -pdf output.pdf

Missing "I" and "." all around the newly created pdf document.

Result of : pdftocairo KFZ\ 2018.pdf -ps output.ps

Missing "I" and "." all around the ps document.

PS export checked and verified with GIMP: still "I" and "." missing.
PDF result verified with Xpdf: still "I" and "." missing.

Original PDF with XPDF => nothing missing.
Original PDF with Evince => nothing missing.

XPDF printed out : nothing missing

Conclusion:

Cairo defective

Gnome guys suggested to post it here.
