I just wanted to stress that this is bug affects a core functionality of pdf
annotations, as highlighted text (in okular; I am not sure what is the
underlying poppler-feature) is still not exported with a default appearance
stream. It is thus invisible in e.g. the Firefox integrated viewer; see for
