Apply the patch and recompile. Or pester your distro to do that for you.
Though honestly, since I don't know what document you're having a problem with,
I wouldn't bet on this patch fixing it. There's a lot that can go wrong with
PDFs. Does running "pdffonts" on your PDF show it using a SymbolMT font?</pre>
