I could say the same about git for the first two. I have no idea how the
quality of the documentation compares. If had to guess, I'd guess that
svn's is probably better.

There a couple of gui's: git-gui, qgit, giggle. I have no idea how good
any of them are though.

git is the only answer I wanted. However, if Albert wasn't interested in
using git then I'd have to accept a switch to svn.
