Thanks for this information.
But ... I can't manage to get it work. I installed Adobe Reader 8.1.1
and tried different video files (generated with ffmpeg), including .rm
(with RV codec) embedded in a PDF (via LaTeX movie15 package). Nothing
works.

Is somebody else has Linux-working PDF files containing videos ? It
should be really helpful.
