[poppler] How make poppler to find qt4

I am trying to recompile poppler with qt4 but it complains that

QtCore was not found in the pkg-config search path
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `QtCore.pc

Meanwhile

/usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.4.2/lib/pkgconfig/QtCore.pc

So, how I can add this directory to search path?
