See previous response.
It's NOT about the version or the options in the creation settings UNLESS the user is using certain features in InDesign.

Thanks for the response!
There is also an option for acrobat compatibility I forgot to mention. The options are Acrobat 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8/9
Does it have any impact?
Thanks,
Tyler.

The differences in the presets will have ZERO impact on text extraction UNLESS the documents in question are using complex transparency operations that intersect with the text. In which case, choose to use PDF 1.6 or PDF/X-4.

Subject: [poppler] adobe pdf export presets
Hello!
I work for a digital publishing company. We use a command line tool pdf2htmlEX that uses poppler. Most of our clients use In Design to produce PDFs for us. When they export a document as a PDF they have a number of presets to choose from listed here:
http://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/exporting-publishing-pdf.html#adobe_pdf_presets
We are wondering if choosing a preset would have any impact on the quality of poppler's text extraction. Anyone have input into which of these presets would be the best to use for high quality text extraction?
Thanks,
Tyler.
