if you have the money, then hiring a professional to do the work
is a good idea.  And I know quite a number of people who will be
very happy about any improvements to form support in poppler,
let alone XFA.

A lot of features have come to poppler as code imports from xpdf,
so in principle that is a good idea. I don't know how difficult it is
in this particular case, though. If you want to give it a go
I would try to answer your questions if you have any.
