I thought that building poppler without splash became deprecated/unmaintained when building with splash became the default, and the cmake and ifdef macros were left only to make it easy to revert in case someone found a situation that required building without
splash.
<div>Does the recently improved overprint support require splash?</div>
Can any of the pdf viewers using poppler provide timings to justify building without splash?<br>
