>From time to time it's required to gain enhanced user privileges. Unfortunatly
Freedesktop platforms differ in the way how to gain privileges. Some platforms
allow you to use the sudo command, others depend on su. Considering the large
number of platforms and the large flexibility in the configuration of sudo and
su a portland tool for gaining enhanced privileges is required.
