Hi,

I'm running a basic window manager, and my screensaver is the basic X11 one
(configured with "xset s ..."). xdg-screensaver doesn't support it, hence,
tools like vlc which are supposed to deactivate the screensaver do not do it
anymore.

There's a Debian bug with a patch attached:

The patch works for me. I'm attaching it here for convenience.
