The following command

xdg-open magnet:asdfhslfdjsadlkfjsfj

opens a new empty (in my case chromium) browser window, instead of the
application transmission-qt as set with xdg-mime (= expected result).

OS: Arch x64
Desktop: LXQt

DESKTOP_SESSION=lxde-qt
XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=LXQt

$DE variable in xdg-open contains the value 'generic'
