Another suggestion I would like to add...  I think it is also not such a
good thing to use "sensible-browser" for urls.
I think a much better solution would be to have urls other than "file://"
have entries in default.list that can be used to indicate how to handle each
kind of url, in the form of "url/*".

Also, this could allow for specific applications for any kind of url
possible
url/http
url/https
url/ftp
url/smb
url/ssh
url/irc
url/ed2k
.... etc

This will cover any use case, and it could even be used to define a new
generic way to use a default Terminal application...

This way.. any default handler can be defined in a generic independent way,
using always  default.list.
