<div dir="ltr"><div>There are certainly people who can merge things: 2 merge requests got merged in 2020. But there hasn't been a release in nearly 3 years, and there are open pull requests even for small changes which aren't getting any comments. I see Rex Dieter (CCed) looked at MR 15 a couple of weeks ago - maybe he can say more about the maintenance status of xdg-utils.</div><div><br></div><div>I see that one of the other open MRs is also trying to integrate XFCE screensaver support (<a href="https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xdg/xdg-utils/-/merge_requests/36">https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xdg/xdg-utils/-/merge_requests/36</a> ). If there is anyone willing to review & merge changes, you might strengthen the case by working together with the author of that one (agree on an approach, have one of you review what the other did).</div><div><br></div><div>Best wishes,</div><div>Thomas<br></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Wed, 31 Mar 2021 at 16:43, Jarno Suni <<a href="mailto:sunijarno@gmail.com">sunijarno@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex">Do you mean that there is no one to accept merge requests for<br>
xdg-utils? I is sad, if the project is so dead.<br>

I am interested in using "xdg-screensaver lock" in xflock4 script of<br>
Xfce to delegate detecting running screensaver daemon to it. I can<br>
detect xfce4-screensaver outside xdg-screensaver in Xfce, though.<br>
Another use case for xdg-screensaver could be inhibiting screensaver<br>
in certain circumstances, but I am not familiar with those techniques.<br>
I read the script a bit and there seem to be different techniques<br>
applied for different screensavers.<br>

The Gitlab issues & merge requests for xdg-utils are marginally more alive, but that's not saying much.<br>

This definitely doesn't apply to all <a href="http://freedesktop.org" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">freedesktop.org</a> projects, but I think most things with xdg in the name are not very actively maintained.<br>
