- Very well marketed list of common features any free desktop can offer.
Brochure, animation, etc.

- Design contests where the desktop is just a category, there are
overall winners, works submitted compatible with various desktops are
apprenciated.

- List of great desktop applications you are going get no matter which
desktop you choose.

- Anything you would get no matter which desktop you choose (a lot).

- Like a game... "Choose you desktop" test, like the distros are
starting to have.

All this published in freedesktop.org or any "neutral" field to be
promoted as a "consumer" site, not just for developers.
