 Now if only someone would fix https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-
 bug/view.php?id=2601 ... it still doesn't work with the latest PulseAudio
 (0.9.7) and ALSA (1.0.15), and I just don't know enough about ALSA's
 internals to understand and/or make any sense of [https://bugtrack.alsa-
 project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=2601#14939 drzeus' findings]. :-/
