 Hi again, and again, and again ;-)

 Some day I'll get the proper posting format.  I'm kind of new to this
 Linux thing, and while it is nice that help is available much more readily
 than for Windows, everyone has there own way.

 I followed the steps above about 3 or 4 times, and each time I got the
 daemon started successfully message.  I then tried killing the daemon,
 removing the /tmp/pulse-$USER directory and rebooted, and of course it
 worked properly.  Not believing it, I rebooted one more time and it failed
 to start with the same errors in /var/log/messages as above.
