 Socrates, it's not exactly surprising that raw alsa works as it doesn't
 use symlinks and similar in $HOME. To specify a "solution" as uninstalling
 pulseaudio on the pulseaudio bug tracker is not really what we're trying
 to achieve here. By definition *every* pulseaudio bug could be solved by
 simply not using it! Every *linux* bug could be solved by using OSX,
 Windows or BSD!!
