 When I want to turn down an application or watch a silent movie and thus
 turn it up I don't want these volumes to be stored, since they are
 exceptions.

 For example holding the shift key while dragging the volume sliders could
 disable saving the changes. So next time I don't get unexpectedly loud or
 silent volume.
