Comment:

 The OSS driver API generally does not support anything beyond 16 bit
 audio. The only formats supported by the OSS API (as defined in
 soundcard.h) are mulaw/alaw, ima adpcm, u8, s16, s8, u16, MPEG, AC3. (And
 the latter two are probably nowhere actually implemented)

 Or in other words: AFMT_S24_LE or AFMT_S32_LE has never been defined
 anywhere.

 OSS is obsolete. Both as API and in code. This cannot be fixed, sorry.
