 I have a Dell XPS M1710 laptop. Though the sound card is only two channel,
 there is a subwoofer underneatch the laptop, which has its own volume
 control.

 I can control this channel using alsamixer -c0.

 However, I can't seem to get Pulseaudio to control that channel.

 I tried manually:

 load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,0 channels=3 channel_map=front-
 left,front-right,lfe

 but pulse tells me:

 W: alsa-util.c: Device hw:0,0 doesn't support 3 channels, changed to 2.

 which I assume is because the channel only exists as a mixer control, not
 a real sound channel.

 Any help or advise welcome.

 I'm using Ubuntu Jaunty (experimental).
