#322: pulseaudio spams my sound card with noise until my ears bleed

Comment(by AHelper):

 Since coling still cares, I have (maybe) a work-around for the new version
 (if this still exists).

 I didn't have the exact same problem as above (my ears were bleeding when
 PA somehow turned the volume up to 175%), but I was also having 10,000
 events being suppressed, and I think my pool did fill.

 Try 3 first. This was the problem with me. 1 & 2 just get a good version
 of PA that works with the work-around. Post any problem there if the
 work-around doesn't work.

 My card is using the emu10k1x drivers. (This could help other cards, too)
