Comment:

 Hmm, that means the definition of the "front:xxxx" device is broken for
 this usb audio device. Please file a bug against ALSA and ask them to fix
 the definition. The "front:xxx" device needs to be able to deal with 2ch
 stereo, since it is the way to access the two front speakers. In this case
 "front:xxx" seems to enforce 8ch, which simple makes no sense.
