 Just as a word of advice glutinous, I'd not hold out much hope of that bug
 producing any results other than some confusing comments by "Raymond". The
 Alsa bugtracker is a total black hole. On the other hand the alsa-devel
 mailing list is pretty good! I'd just repost your bug report and send it
 as a mail to alsa-devel ML instead. You don't need to subscribe fully, you
 can use a NNTP aggregator like gmane.org to post and follow replies
 (that's what I do). HTHs
