Comment:

 This is sadly expected.

 At present the current implementation uses the network write buffer (and
 thus the onboard buffer) as a timing mechanism for how to render the audio
 to the device. This is really crappy but it works most of the time. I've
 also got a problem with re-connecting to the device after doing so
 initially, so can't really drop out and reconnect easily. This is why it's
 always on, hogging the APEX and playing silence.

 I'm hoping to improve the support soon, but like I say, this is actually
 expected behaviour for the current implementation. Hopefully I'll get it
 working in a friendlier manner for 0.9.21.
