If you see a stale PID file warning, this typically means that pulseaudio
has crashed.
In order to work out why it crashed we need to get a good backtrace from
pulse (with debugging symbols).
In the first instance, can you just run pulseaudio normally (pulseaudio
-vvvv in shell. You may have to kill the currently running PA first via
pulseaudo -k and it may even try to autospawn before you get a chance to
run it manually, so run "pulseaudio -k; pulseaudio -vvvv" in one command.
It may not work first time but just repeat until the command spews out
debug and does not return you to the shell.
Then just use your computer as normal, until it crashes and the last
couple lines of output should be telling (paste them here)
If you know about backtraces etc., then please follow the backtrace
instructions on wiki:Community and get a full backtrace.
