 removing ~/.pulse/*device-volumes.tdb indeed made the whole setup working!
 Thanks a great lot for your effort.
 wifi over the airport is a bit slowish when streaming audio but
 nonetheless being able to get audio passthrough is really amazing.
 I don't really know how to apply the patch (esp not using the PKGBUILD
 used in archlinux AUR for making custom packages) so I have not yet tried
 that solution (but am willing to if someone would point me in the right
 direction)
 Futhermore I'm curious if this is an Arch related problem of if this
 happens on other linux systems as well. And if fixing this correctly would
 be easy.
