Comment:
now running Karmic, PA 0.9.16~test6
pulse now tries to control my LFE volume, but fails miserably in producing
a working sound experience. What happens now when adjusting the PA main
volume is:
1. zero: all volume controls at zero, turned off
2. increase slightly: LFE and PCM are moved to max and turned on. Master
still at zero
3. increase more: master slides upwards towards 100%
This all looks ok on paper. However, it does not have the desired effect,
as the LFE control constrols the hardware volume directly, without being
multipled with Master.
The effect is thus:
1. No sound (correct)
2. Full LFE (HIGH bass volume, no sound in L+R)
3. Gradually higher in L+R, but still not balanced with the LFE at max.
I'm not sure what the correct solution is, but this ain't it.
