Comment:

 Well it seems you're hitting the CPU limiter. Not sure why, but I'll let
 Lennart work that out!

 YOu should be able to set the default sample channels to 2 and then pick a
 5.1 output via the configuration tab in pavucontrol to get 6 channel
 output while still maintaining a 1 or 2 channel input. (although this is
 still a bug in some capacity).
