 I have the same problems as described. Further more I want to add a sample
 of my /var/log/messages output:

 Feb  1 12:02:26 nano pulseaudio[3062]: ratelimit.c: 168 events suppressed
 Feb  1 12:02:31 nano pulseaudio[3062]: ratelimit.c: 650 events suppressed
 Feb  1 12:02:36 nano pulseaudio[3062]: ratelimit.c: 2962 events suppressed

 I believe this is a serious problem which seems to be very related to
 pulseaudio itself on snd-hda-intel platforms. Other sound output devices
 seem to work better and more stable.
 An other phenomenon is a high CPU usage off pulseaudio using applications
 like skype. Sound recording seems to be totally broken.
 I am very willing to add any debugging output if needed to resolve this.

 PS: I tried position_fix=1 as well without help.
