#835: Audio Too Fast, then Stutters
--------------------------+-------------------------------------------------
Reporter: youngheart80 | Owner: lennart
Type: defect | Status: new
Milestone: | Component: daemon

Running Ubuntu 10.04.
Recently, audio has become broken in Pulseaudio. Not sure if it was a
recent update or what.
Playing any audio or video source, the sound stream sounds fine at first,
but after approximately 2 seconds, it speeds up and the pitch goes up. If
playing a video, after some time (30s or so) audio becomes choppy, then
pauses in both video and audio occur to try and sync. Never happens and
the audio is continues too high pitched and playing to quickly. Video
plays at normal speed.
Haven't got a lot of expertise to troubleshoot - I would be very happy to
try and diagnose here on my end, but will need directions on what to do.
I've confirmed the problem affects Flash (via Firefox), Movie Player,
Songbird, PITIVI, and Rhythmbox - in other words, everything on my rig
that does sound. Also affects stereo analog output and HDMI audio output.
Suggestions for troubleshooting appreciated.
