What does:
 grep "Internal Mic" /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/*

return?

You are using a recent PA so this should contain all the necessary
definitions...

I'll need to study the alsa output again, but I don't see why this isn't
showing up properly :(
