Comment:

 Actually only git master server and git master client would trigger this.
 I test relatively regularly to older servers (as my media system has an
 older version), but not master->master.

 I've pushed
 http://git.0pointer.de/?p=pulseaudio.git;a=commitdiff;h=36e7f8a92e8b340dd4034a39a655ba93bcd41886

 which I've not been able to test, but I am pretty sure it'll fix the
 issue.

 Big apologies for not noticing this bug until now :s
