#944: record from monitor is corrupted during volume change
---------------------------+------------------------------------------------
 Reporter: andrew_gullop | Owner: lennart
     Type: defect | Status: new
Milestone: | Component: daemon
 Keywords: record |
---------------------------+------------------------------------------------
Recording from a monitor source is corrupted during volume change in
 ubuntu 11.04 and 10.10.
On the recording side the problem arises with both pacat and custom
 application code.
On the playback side, the problem arises with either totem (always) or the
ubuntu volume plugin (but only when changing the volume over 100%).
The corruption is under the form of duplicated samples being continously
send out to the recording application during the volume change; as soon as
the volume change slider stops moving, the normal sequence of samples is
 resumed.

The problem does not occur when recording from via alsa (tested with
 audacity).
