Diving deeper into this topic. There is a patch at
<https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=1870842&group_id=119473&atid=684238>
which is supposed to implement "Buffer overrun control".

btw. how tight is the relationship of raop-play and the feature integrated in
pulseaudio?
