We have an agreement here then. Thank you. I have a patch for pasuspender that
implements this feature, but I have trouble with the alsa configuration file
contents. I sent a message[1] about it to alsa-devel. Are you able to help with
this, perhaps?

Regarding the rest of your message, I don't consider the problems that you
described very serious. But if you want to redesign alsa, feel free to do so...
