Upon further investigation, it indeed seems that Avahi *MUST* always be started
before the PA daemon for remote sinks to work at all. Right now, this isn't the
case, at least in Debian and Ubuntu packages, because the
/etc/init.d/pulseaudio boot script doesn't declare Avahi as an LSB header
dependency.
