I would actually like to see this functionality added as well. There are many
reports across the web (reddit, arch, fedora, raspberry pi) where this is
causing issues. 

I'm willing to put up a reward for getting this done. The first developer to
get Airplay working with iOS 6 _and_ 7 gets $200 to the paypal address of their
choice.

But it must work for iOS 6 and the upcoming 7 on PulseAudio version 3.x and
4.x.
