No difference in behaviour. The card seems to be present, still. One comment:
it seems that it is not the whole system that hangs, just the program that
plays the sound. If this is the session manager, I can't do anything anymore.
And pulseaudio itself hangs. Pulseaudio doesn't even react to being killed
after that.
